چکیده
EGFR belongs to the family of structurally and functionally similar ErbB or HER receptors on cell surfaces, which have intracellular tyrosine kinase activity. What all of these receptors have in common is that they consist of extracellular and membrane components to which ligand and intracellular components are bound via the tyrosine kinase activity . Under normal conditions the activity of ErbB receptors is controled by ligands which belong to the group of EGF related growth factors .

The Relationship Between Fibroblastic Growth Factor Receptor-1 (FGFR1) Gene Amplification in Triple Negative Breast Carcinomas and Clinicopathological Prognostic Factors
Background & Objective: In Triple-Negative Breast Cancers (TNBCs), estrogen receptor (ER), progesterone receptor (PR) and HER2/neu genes are not expressed. Fibroblastic Growth Factor Receptor-1 (FGFR1) gene product is a protein that acts as a receptor of thyrosin kinase. It plays a role in the proliferation, differentiation, and migration of malignant cells. The objective was t...
متن کاملEpidermal Growth Factor Receptor (EGFR) Gene Mutation Analysis in Adenocarcinoma of Lung, the First Report from Iran
Background and Objective: Epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) gene mutation, especially in exons 18 to 21, is an important predictor of the response rate of lung adenocarcinoma to tyrosine kinase inhibitors. There are variable reports from Asian and European countries, as well as North America, about the frequency of the EGFR mutation in lung adenocarcinoma, yet molecular s...
متن کاملCorrelation of genes associated with drug response to prognosis of large cell lung carcinoma
Platinum-based chemotherapy remains the main treatment of advanced lung cancer. However, platinum resistance has become a major treatment obstacle. Novel therapies, particularly tyrosine kinase inhibitors of the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR-TKI) and agents that target vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), have improved the treatment. Both chemotherapy and targeted therapy have th...
متن کاملMolecular Basis of Drug Resistance: Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor Tyrosine Kinase Inhibitors and Anaplastic Lymphoma Kinase Inhibitors
Over the past decade, several kinase inhibitors have been approved based on their clinical benefit in cancer patients. Unfortunately, in many cases, patients develop resistance to these agents via secondary mutations and alternative mechanisms. To date, several major mechanisms of acquired resistance, such as secondary mutation of the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) gene, amplification ...
متن کاملRelationship of EGFR mutations, expression, amplification, and polymorphisms to epidermal growth factor receptor inhibitors in the NCI60 cell lines.
PURPOSE The mechanism of sensitivity and resistance to epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) inhibitors is incompletely understood, particularly in cancers other than non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC). To understand the variable response to this class of drugs, we used the NCI60 cancer cell lines. We aimed to determine if there are interactions between EGFR expression, mutations, polymorphis...
